Read on to discover more about it!
It's built for wet and humid environments
Knauf AQUAPANEL® Cement Board Indoor is designed for use in areas exposed to high levels of moisture. Its cement core reinforced with glass fibre mesh means it does not degrade when wet and make it highly resistant to mould, mildew and chemical damage. This design makes the product appropriate for use in both residential and commercial settings, from domestic bathrooms, wet rooms and kitchens to steam saunas and swimming pools in the hotel and leisure sector.

It's lightweight for ease of handling
Knauf AQUAPANEL® Cement Board Indoor weighs just 11 kilograms per square metre, making it lighter than many traditional cement boards. It can be cut using a score-and-snap method, which eliminates the need for specialist tools or pre-drilling, and in turn can reduce labour time on site. The board is also flexible enough to be curved, allowing for more bespoke and creative design applications to be achieved in modern wet area construction.
It's compliant with NHBC technical guidance
Knauf AQUAPANEL® Cement Board Indoor has been fully tested in accordance with the updated NHBC Technical Guidance 9.2/06, which outlines the specific requirements for substrates in wet areas, including those with power showers and bathroom pods. It also complies with BS EN 12467 standards for fibre cement boards, ensuring it delivers the performance and durability required by housebuilders and developers.
It offers versatile finishing options
Design flexibility is a key part of Knauf AQUAPANEL® Cement Board Indoor. Not only can it support tiles up to 120 kilograms per square metre, making it suitable for heavy-duty finishes such as stone or large-format tiles but Knauf also offers two compatible options for skim finishes. These include Knauf Ready-Mixed Interior Skim, an option that can help reduce water usage and dust creation on site, and Knauf AQUAPANEL® Joint Filler and Skim Coating – White, which is a powdered cement-based filling material used in conjunction with AQUAPANEL® reinforcing mesh. Both finishing options, alongside a range of accessories designed to work seamlessly with Knauf AQUAPANEL® Cement Board Indoor including screws, adhesives and tape, are also available from CCF’s branches nationwide.
It's heat-resistant and non-combustible
In addition to moisture resistance, Knauf AQUAPANEL® Cement Board Indoor is also suitable for use in high-temperature environments. It can withstand temperatures up to 200 degrees Celsius and carries an A1 non-combustible rating, making it appropriate for use behind wood-burning stoves and other heat sources.
