Getting to grips with our updated SOPREMA PIR insulation range

2nd Jul 2026

If you’ve been into your local CCF branch recently, you may have noticed something a little different on the insulation racks. As part of the transition from Celotex to SOPREMA, the PIR boards you know and use every day are moving over to new product names and updated packaging.

What isn’t changing is the important bit which is the products themselves. Specifications, applications and guidance all remain the same, and so does the support you get from our teams.

Our job is to make the switch as smooth as possible, so you always know exactly what you’re picking up. To help you get familiar with the updated range, here’s a quick walkthrough of what each product is called now and where it’s typically used.

SOPRATHERM CW4000 — previously Celotex CW4000

This is the board to reach for when you’re working on partial-fill masonry cavity walls. SOPRATHERM CW4000 keeps the same PIR core and aluminium foil facings, with a declared thermal conductivity of 0.022 W/mK and thicknesses from 50–100 mm.

Boards are supplied in a 1200 x 450 mm format with straight edges and are BBA certified under Certificate 24/7312 for partial-fill cavity wall applications. The product carries a Euroclass F reaction to fire classification.

SOPRATHERM CW4000 FF — previously Celotex CW4000 FF

If space is tight SOPRATHERM CW4000 FF is used in masonry cavity applications either fully filled or with up to a 10mm residual cavity.  It also has a declared thermal conductivity of 0.022 W/mK and is available in thicknesses of 90, 115 and 140mm.

Boards are supplied in a 1190 x 450 format with tongue and groove edges and are BBA certified under Certificate 24/7312. The product carries a Euroclass F reaction to fire classification.

THERMACLASS Cavity Wall 21

THERMACLASS Cavity Wall 21 stays exactly as it is and remains a key part of the range for masonry cavity walls. It has a declared thermal conductivity of 0.021 W/mK, tongue-and-groove edges for close jointing, and foil facings as part of the construction.

Boards come in a 1190 × 450 mm format and 90–140 mm thicknesses. It is BBA certified under Certificate 24/7312 for both full-fill and partial-fill masonry cavity wall applications. The product also carries a Euroclass F reaction to fire classification.

SOPRATHERM TB4000 — previously Celotex TB4000

When space is tight, SOPRATHERM TB4000 is the thinner PIR option. Available in 20–40 mm thicknesses, it features aluminium foil facings and the same 0.022 W/mK declared thermal conductivity as the rest of the SOPRATHERM range.

Boards are supplied in a 2400 × 1200 mm format and are covered by BBA Certificate 25/7318. The product also carries a Euroclass F reaction to fire classification.

SOPRATHERM GA4000 — previously Celotex GA4000

SOPRATHERM GA4000 is the general purpose PIR board in the range, suitable for a wide mix of applications. It features aluminium foil facings, a declared thermal conductivity of 0.022 W/mK, and thicknesses from 50–100 mm.

Boards are supplied in a 2400 × 1200 mm format and are included within BBA Certificate 25/7318. Like the rest of the range, it carries a Euroclass F reaction to fire classification.

SOPRATHERM XR4000 — previously Celotex XR4000

For projects that need higher thickness PIR, SOPRATHERM XR4000 is the updated name to look for. It features aluminium foil facings, a declared thermal conductivity of 0.022 W/mK, and comes in 110–200 mm thicknesses.

Boards are supplied in a 2400 × 1200 mm format and are covered by BBA Certificate 25/7318 for pitched roofs, dry lining and floor constructions. The product carries a Euroclass F reaction to fire classification.

SOPRATHERM PL4000 — previously Celotex PL4000

If you’re internally lining walls or upgrading a pitched roof ceiling, SOPRATHERM PL4000 will feel very familiar. It’s the same PIR and plasterboard laminate construction, combining a PIR core (0.022 W/mK) with 12.5 mm tapered-edge plasterboard.

Overall thicknesses range from 37.5–77.5 mm, and the product remains BBA certified (certificate 25/7366 )for its defined applications.
