Meet the team - Craig Newman

26th Feb 2026

Continuing our series of colleague profiles, we talk to Craig Newman. As our South West Regional Director, Craig is well known by customers and colleagues alike, with nearly 40 years’ industry experience and lots of ideas on how to further develop our business.

What’s your role at CCF?

I’m CCF’s South West Regional Director and a member of the company’s senior leadership team. My remit covers overseeing and supporting our local branch, operational and sales teams, covering the South West of England, Wales & South Coast. With our regional branch network giving CCF a strong service capability in Cardiff, Didcot, Exeter, Gloucester, Reading, Bournemouth, Portsmouth and Southampton, we are well located to serve customers in this area and I am thrilled to be playing a key part in developing the South West region even further.

How long have you been with CCF?

I joined CCF in 2019 which was a great fit for me having spent over 30 years working in the distribution sector and nearly 40 years overall in construction. This new move into a more regional role is another great opportunity for me to draw on my years of experience, knowledge and close customer relationships to really make an impact on CCF’s success across the South West. It’s an exciting new chapter for me and I am delighted to be working with such a great team.

What do you think is the most important part of your job?

I am very proud of the opportunity I have been given to support the South West Region of CCF and the company in the next phase of its growth. My ambition is to grow our business strength for the future, lead the market in customer service and engagement and develop CCF’s next generation of leaders.

Fun & Personal Insights

1. Do you have any new year’s resolutions?

Yes I do - not to make any new year’s resolutions!

2. What’s a hobby or passion you have outside of work, and how did you get into it?

I did play rugby and enjoy a game of golf but I am an armchair expert in almost all sports! I’m a huge fan of all sports and this was driven by my father and how much I loved him taking me with him every weekend to play or watch a game.

3. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Concentrate on the things that you can influence and let the rest pass you by.

4. What is the one app/website you can’t live without and why?

My Pension App! It's what you do when you get to my age. Or maybe LinkedIn. I love staying making new connections and seeing people who I have worked with in the past being successful in their careers.

5. What’s the best holiday or trip you’ve ever been on?

The simple ones with my family and grandchildren around me where we are laughing and just enjoying life.

6. How would your colleagues describe you in three words?

Fun, fair and friend - or maybe ‘best boss ever’!?
