Hats off to Craig for completing his charity challenge
Thanks to the power of social media and the kind generosity of our customers, supply chain partners and colleagues, our Regional Sales Director Craig Newman has successfully completed his ‘Hats for The Homeless’ charity challenge, resulting in over 550 bobble hats being donated to The Salvation Army in time for the colder winter months.
The campaign started almost by accident when Craig posted a photo of himself on LinkedIn wearing a bobble hat that had been given to him by our supply chain partner Drywall Contracts Limited. The popularity of the post led to the creation of the #HatsForTheHomeless hashtag and as more hats were donated in exchange for a ‘bobble hat selfie’ photo, soon Craig was inundated with hats from across the UK! Craig was keen to put the warm woolly hats to a good use and so announced that all donations would be passed on to The Salvation Army to support people facing homelessness this winter.
Craig made the donation of over 550 hats to the Gloucester branch of The Salvation Army on 4th November 2024.
Commenting, CCF Regional Sales Director Craig Newman said: “I have been blown away with the support and generosity that I have received and would like to thank each and every person who has taken the time to send me a bobble hat and has just liked and shared my posts. I never expected so many people to enjoy my bobble hat selfies! I’m delighted that what started as a little bit of fun has gone on to help support the fantastic work that The Salvation Army does.”
