Getting to know Adam Newton our Branch Manager at CCF Norwich

30th Apr 2025

Welcome to our new series introducing the people behind CCF—the experts who help deliver your projects. First up is Adam Newton, Branch Manager at CCF Norwich, which opened last year.

Based just 15 minutes away in the village of Easton, Adam has over 20 years’ experience in the building materials and distribution market and is currently putting his industry knowledge to good use by leading a dedicated team and ensuring our customers across East Anglia always get the best service possible!

What does a typical working day look like for you?

I like to get in early—before the day really starts for everyone else. It gives me time to prep, grab a coffee, and get ahead on emails. I’ll then walk the warehouse and yard, check in with the drivers and warehouse team, and from 7am, I like to serve on the counter for a bit. It’s a great way to stay in touch with our customers. From there, no two days are the same. I could be pricing tenders, targeting new customers, visiting sites, or catching up with the team to drive sales. Being a Branch Manager is full of variety—one thing’s for sure, every day brings a new challenge!

What do you enjoy most about your role?

Winning! There’s no better feeling than when all the hard work on a tender or enquiry turns into an order, or when a new customer opens an account with us.

I also love seeing my team develop. There’s a real sense of pride in watching people grow in confidence and progress in their roles.

How would your colleagues describe you in three words?

Driven, relentless, hungry!

What’s a hobby or passion of yours outside of work?

I’m really keen on cycling. I picked it up during lockdown a few years ago—mainly out of boredom and a need to balance out my love of the finer things in life!

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

"Prepare to fail if you fail to prepare." Simple, to the point, and 100% true.

What’s one app or website you couldn’t live without?

If I really had to choose, it would be the Amazon Music app—I’d be lost without my huge music collection.

What’s the best trip you’ve ever been on?

It's between a snowy winter trip to Reykjavik, Iceland, or a 10-day summer campervan tour across Spain. Completely different experiences, but I loved both!
