CCPI – one year on
This November marks a full year since CCF successfully completed the Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI) Assessment for Merchants and Distributors.
As one of the first UK distributors to achieve this milestone, the anniversary offers an opportunity to reflect on the progress made and the continued importance of transparency in construction product information.
The CCPI was developed to address long-standing challenges in the industry around the clarity, accuracy and accessibility of product data. Its creation followed the Grenfell Tower tragedy and the subsequent calls for greater accountability in how product information is managed and communicated. For CCF, the decision to undertake the assessment was rooted in a sense of responsibility to customers and the wider supply chain. As a distributor working closely with both specifiers and installers, ensuring that product information is reliable and up-to-date remains central to how we operate.

Since passing the assessment in November 2024, CCF has embedded the CCPI principles into all internal processes. This includes ongoing checks to ensure that systems continue to support the delivery of accurate product data, as well as training programmes designed to equip team members with the knowledge and skills required to handle product information competently. These efforts are part of our wider commitment to continuous improvement and to supporting customers by providing information they can trust.
CCF’s External Product Information Policy has also played a key role in shaping how we are working with our supply chain partners and manufacturers. By outlining expectations around assessment and updates, the policy helps ensure that product information shared with customers reflects the latest standards and certifications. As more manufacturers complete their own CCPI assessments, we are seeing a positive shift towards consistent best practice and full transparency across the supply chain.
