CCF at UK Construction Week

28th Sep 2023

CCF managing director to take centre stage at UK Construction Week to discuss the role distributors can play in ‘getting product information right’

In a world where we expect sustainability and safety to be verifiable, the traceability of building materials from reputable supply chains is becoming increasingly important. As one of the UK’s leading insulation, drywall and ceiling product distributors, here at CCF, we know this is an issue that really matters to our customers and we’re delighted to announce that CCF’s Managing Director Catherine Gibson will be speaking about this issue at UK Construction Week.

Catherine will discuss the role distributors like CCF can play in ensuring that the right product information can be traced from manufacturer to construction sites, and share what the business will learn from a new traceability trial that is now underway in partnership with one of its manufacturers and customers.

Set to be one of the most interesting discussions at UK Construction Week, Catherine will be joining Geoffrey Brown from the Office of Product Safety & Standards, and Amanda Long, formerly CEO of Considerate Constructors and founder of the Building a Safer Future Charter, who now leads CPI, the body that administers the Code for Construction Product Information.

The panel discussion will centre on the ‘next steps in building safety - ‘getting product information right’, and will take place on the main stage at 11.25am on Wednesday  4th October.

Commenting on the panel, Catherine said: “Building safety and product information are two of the most important issues facing the construction industry and I am looking forward to speaking about the vital role distributors have to play in leading the way on maintaining the golden thread through the supply chain.”

CCF will also have a presence at another of the event’s discussion panels, with CCF’s commercial director Adam Taylor taking part in the debate on ‘does the construction industry need to reinvent the digitalisation industry.’ Adam will be speaking alongside leading international not-for-profit standards organisation GS1 and other members of the construction products supply chain to discuss how the use of standardised unique identification can support the digitalisation of the industry and be an enabler for tracing of products. Adam will be speaking in the Digital Construction Hub on Wednesday 4th October at 13.15pm.
