THERMAL – PART L

 

Part L building regulations stipulate specific minimum U-Values for each element of construction i.e. walls, roof and floor. These values vary depending on the type of construction i.e. new build or renovations, domestic or commercial.

 

ACOUSTIC – PART E

 

Unwanted sound (noise) was declared an environmental pollutant in 1972 and as such, Part E building regulations set acoustic performance requirements for separating walls, separating floors, internal walls and common areas.


FIRE – PART B

 

Fire regulations vary depending on the type of structure and fire location. Part B (England and Wales) breaks down to include 5 elements including; internal spread of fire (linings & structure), external fire spread and access to facilities for fire services.
