CCF Carlisle Have Been Chosen by Local Contractors to Supply Essential Building Materials for New Cancer Care Facility
August 5th 2020
Our team at the CCF Carlisle branch are proud to have worked together with local contractors to provide vital supplies for a new cancer care unit that is being built in Carlisle, on the former site of the tower block building at Cumberland Infirmary.
Designed to care for patients from all over north, west and east Cumbria, the new £18M cancer care centre is a major project for the region. Once built, the centre will boast two modern floors equipped with all the latest treatment equipment, including a state-of-the-art radiotherapy machine.
CCF Carlisle was one of the building suppliers chosen by local contractors to meet the demand for breadth of product, quick delivery and on-demand technical support. Product recommendations were made based on the specification, and with the help of the CCF team Celotex GA4080 insulation was used alongside Kooltherm K15 in the external walls. To retain heat in the centre, Kingspan Greenguard GG300 was also specified for the project.
To ensure strict adherence to fire safety regulations, CCF recommended the use of Rockwool SP60 FireStop Slab and Rockwool TCB Cavity Barriers. Harry Knight, Branch Manager at CCF Carlisle, said: “It was great to be involved in the construction of the new cancer care facility, which will make such a difference to the quality of healthcare in the local community. The team worked diligently to get stock delivered in a timely manner to allow the project to run smoothly and were involved in proposing cost-effective product solutions to save time and money whilst working to the same specification.”
