CCF'S £120,000 CHARITY CHALLENGE
February 26th 2020
At the beginning of 2019 CCF set an extraordinary challenge of raising £120,000 for Alzheimer’s Society. With a number of different events held both at branch and regional level to achieve this amazing target!
In 2019, CCF also saw the expansion of Alzheimer’s Society branded lorries in fleet to further raise awareness of the charity partnership and encourage conversations on site.
In June CCF East London hosted a Superhero Day which consisted of branch colleagues wearing fancy dress to work and holding a bake sale for customers. CCF Northampton and the Commercial team also caught the baking bug and held their own bake sales!
To burn off all of the cake, on 31st August over 50 CCF colleagues got together to walk over 26 miles along Hadrian’s Wall, climbing over 900 feet in the first 5 miles! Nevertheless, spirits were not dampened and the first colleague managed to cross the finish line within 7.5 hours. For this challenge alone, over £20,000 was raised.
Delivering for Dementia included all CCF colleagues getting involved to walk, run or even skip the distance of the CCF branch network. As treadmills made their way around the 4 regions, colleagues took time away from their desks to contribute to the grand total of 2,577 miles.
As the target of £120,000 was successfully met, the bar has been raised even higher for 2020 with a new target of £125,000.
