Knopp beats the spec at Dublin airport
When CSC Screeding wanted to save money without compromising the 35N hardness spec at Dublin Airport, they chose Knopp. By adding Knopp's Duremit 50 to a 56,000m2 section of lightweight concrete, they cut costs and beat the spec with ease.
"During the project, there were lots of independent tests – core samples and drop hammer tests – that showed we were achieving a strength of up to 55N. That meant, due to the performance and efficiencies of Duremit 50, the positive impact from an environmental perspective created a significant upside on sustainability, enabling us to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 1000 tonnes," says Spencer Warner, CSC's managing director.
